Christmas and sparkle go together like mince pies and mulled wine, which may explain our current fixation with embellishment label Mané.
Technically accomplished and visually arresting, the pieces are not your average sequin fare - and that's just how designer Mané Virdee likes it.
Although Virdee admits that there are challenges to her current bi-continental business structure - not least the five-hour time difference - the benefits currently outweigh the tribulations.
"Hand embellished product takes time - days and even weeks to bead, depending on how complex the embroidery is," she explained. "So the great thing about being in Delhi is that you can avoid a few disasters if it turns out that an idea isn't working or a colour isn't looking quite right. The worst thing is waiting weeks for a sample and having to start again because that crazy sequin you thought looked so awesome in fact doesn't. I take it from source all the way to shipment myself. This year, our focus is to work with some key wholesale partners to put the product in front of new consumers globally - where the customer can easily see, touch, feel the product and try it on."
